The deposit guarantees your booking, and ensures that we have a tour guide available for you on your chosen dates. Your deposit is non-refundable. You will pay the remaining amount when you arrive in Manaus. We accept cash as payment.
Itinerary.
First day.
In Manaus the tour starts at the port of Manaus; CEASA. Take a fast boat to the port of Careiro da Várzea. You will take a van to the community of Araçá, there you will take a fast boat to the jungle lodge.
ALL THIS TRANSFER IS DONE WITH A GUIDE GUIDE FLUENT IN PORTUGUESE AND ENGLISH.
Arriving at the lodge around 11:30am, the guide will show you to your accommodation and then you will have lunch, you can choose vegetarian or kosher food. As the Amazon climate is very hot. After 3:00 PM, piranha fishing begins.
With a native guide, you will navigate through small rivers around Lake Mamori, for piranha fishing with a rod. Returning to the Lodge in the late afternoon, to watch the Amazon sunset from the Lodge. You will also observe some diurnal birds returning to their nest, where you will be able to register in photos and videos. After dinner, the guide will invite you to begin the activity of alligator spotting, by boarding a speedboat and going in search of the alligators at night in the jungle. When found the native guide will throw the flashlight in the eye of the alligator and immobilizing it temporarily, then he will take a small to explain about the species and the information of habits of the animal, then he will release the alligator back into the river, all this activity is done with extremely safe for animals and tourists. No harm is done to the animal. Afterwards return to the lodge.
Second day.
At dawn, before breakfast, the guide will invite you for bird watching. Lake Mamori is full of life, and in the morning is full of birds. Such as Macaws, Toucans, Giant Jacu, Parrots, Japiim, Hawks, Fishing Eagles, Moorish Herons, and Uirapuru. After breakfast, you can receive jungle trekking instruction from the native guide, who will teach you how to get food and water and basic location notions. After lunch, the guide will invite you for a jungle trek, which will take an average of two to three hours, during the trekking silence is required, during the trek it is possible to observe some animals, such as sloths, monkeys, tarantulas, agoutis, pacas, it depends on the adventurer’s luck.
When you find a place to camp, the guide will teach you how to make a shelter in the jungle, how to make a fire. After setting up the hammock and preparing the camp, you and the native guide will search for food in the river, start fishing with a harpoon. Focusing the flashlight on the river, the fish come to the surface and that is when you use the harpoon. Back at the camp you will have a barbecue with what you have caught or if you prefer for vegetarians, there are many different fruits and vegetables in the jungle that are edible and good tasting. If you would like chicken or rice, we can bring it from the lodge. After dinner is the time to sleep in the jungle. Some tourists say when they come back from the jungle that sleeping in the jungle is one of the most unforgettable moments, because of the sounds and the view of the sky, something that you feel in body and soul, something instinctive, wild and mystical.
Third day.
Start with a breakfast in the jungle, with foods obtained in the jungle, after that, will go to the native house, where a local people (cabloco), after breakfast, start the tour in the many villages of native people of the Amazon jungle, will learn from the guide about the way of life and how they do to obtain food and agricultural cultivation of riparian, will learn about the process of cassava and flour making. You will observe how the native people of the Amazon jungle live, without electricity, will make a meal at the native house with the natives and after lunch, we will use small canoes and paddles to try to make as little noise as possible to not scare away the animals. We will also do some bird watching, and spend time enjoying the sunset. After sunset, we will return to the native community.
At dusk, we will go harpoon fishing with the natives. We will also try to locate some poisonous snakes in the treetops. Later, in this nocturnal activity, we will return to the native house, where we will have dinner. We will eat the fish caught during our harpoon fishing in the small Amazonian rivers. This night we will stay overnight in the native family’s house with hammocks and musket nets.
Fourth day.
We wake up at 7:00 am for breakfast. After breakfast we will leave the native house for our last hikes or canoeing, depending on the season. If it is dry season, we will go on a floating jungle hike. If it is rainy season, we will visit the same floating jungle in canoes. There is a high possibility of seeing a boa constrictor floating in the jungle. After the hike/canoe to the floating jungle, we will return to the lodge where we will have lunch. After lunch, we have time to relax. We can spend the afternoon swimming in Lake Mamori or we can try our canoeing skills in one of the Amazon canoes. We will have dinner at the lodge around 7:00 pm. Day Five.
We will wake up at 7:00 am for breakfast. After breakfast, we will sail in our wooden canoes to a place that has many rubber trees. Here we will make our own rubber. We will look for a rubber tree. from this tree we will collect the milk that is used to make the rubber. We will make a fire and learn about the great rubber production that took place in the Amazon between 1860 and 1910.
After this activity, we will return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will have time to relax and prepare your things to leave at 14:00. We will return to Manaus the same way we came. We will arrive in Manaus at 16:00 and our driver will take you from Ceasa port back to your hotel and that is the end of our Adventure.
